Design / Fabrication of Facility
Design, development & commissioning of cyclic pressure facility
The cyclic test will be done with an exclusive facility for cyclic application of pressure inside the test specimen. The set up comprises of a pressure and flow generating mechanism, a system for applying the pressure as per the test requirement, a recording mechanism for recording the test history, control mechanism for controlling the application of pressure, cooling system to maintain oil temperature within allowable limits and safety mechanism for over pressure

Design, Fabrication & commissioning of Snout level control system
A snout level control system was designed, fabricated, commissioned and handed over to Nuclear Power corporation, Mumbai. The level of water in the tank was controlled by the flow rate through weir connected to the outlet piping. In the present case , a system was designed to have the required flow as inflow to the system. The water coming to the tank was collected in the outlet tank through the weir provided. The minimum level of water required for the rated flow will be obtained for different configuration of the weir. Simulation of different configuration of the weir were carried out to have optimum performance.

Pump / Sump Studies
Experimental study on the Circulating water intake system
Objective of the experimental study is evaluating the effects of sump geometry, location of suction piping and anti vortex devices on the vortex free running of the pump. The effect of step at the inlet, salinity and temperature on the generation of vortices at varying flow rate through the pump will also be studied. Two bell profiles will be tested with varying the length of the bell portion. The effect of submergence will be studied for varying flow rate for all the cases of sump profile and bell profile will also be studied.

Gravel test on meter cluster
The meter cluster under test was placed at a distance of 350 mm from the gravelometer used for the test. Gravel test was performed with a line pressure of 4 bar air, 10-12 mm gravel size. The test meter was placed perpendicular to the plane of the gravelometer. A single stone was made to hit the meter by putting it in the hood for about 3 secs. This whole set up was made to run for about 1 minute. The test was conducted at ambient temperature of 25 ± 2.5 °C
