OBJECTIVES	Air flow meters are widely used in engine test beds and FCRI is equipped with flow measurement and calibration facilities for certification of these air flow meters used in engine test beds. The e-Training course defines various types of flow meter used in automobile application especially related to engine performance test and also explains the various calibration techniques. This course also discusses flow related general test procedures on air vents assembled in automobile instrument panel
TOPICS	- Laminar flow element and critical flow orifice for automobile test applications - Secondary methods for calibration for flow meters used in automobile test application - Testing of air vents- General methods - Calibration of smooth approach orifice and application of ultrasonic flow meter used in engine test application-case study
Target Group	Personnel from Mechanical, Instrumentation, Chemical, Petroleum or Electrical Engineering with a background of industrial Instrumentation and control in gas flow measurement and related field. Participants may be from Automobile industries, gas industries, flow meter manufacturers, Flow meter user industries, consultant Engineers, Govt Regulatory bodies, Research institutes, Academic institutions etc.
